Wall-E a Darker Franchise than Many Expected.

24 06 2008

An article on ChicagoTribune.com reveals Wall-E to be a very artistic endeavor for Pixar, with a fairly dark story as well.

The most radical part may be this: “WALL•E” comes across as completely unconcerned about trying to appeal to a certain demographic, which is to say that, despite its G rating, it may be too dark for many younger kids. It’s meant, simply, to be a great movie.

The article describes a pretty emotional tale of a “trash-compactor robot left alone on a garbage-strewn Earth.” One wonders what’s in store for the Wii game, given the creative direction of the movie. Hopefully we’ll be pleasantly surprised. The game releases today (June 24th) in the US.
