E3 Wii News Roundup Day 1

Well day one of E3 is almost at a close and we’re filled with tons of Wii news following Nintendo’s press conference today. Here are the highlights.

Nintendo announced WiiFit, an fitness and excersise game that comes packed with a wireless floor mat controller dubbed the WiiBalance board. WiiFit will encourage users to increase or decrease their Body Mass Index (BMI) by participating int the various game activities every day. Push ups, Yoga, Step Aerobics and dancing are included.

Mario Kart Wii

Mario Kart Wii will come to the system sometime in early 2008. With improved graphics and and included steering wheel peripheral Nintendo hopes that the game will be accessible to all players.

Super Mario Galaxy
Well, it’s about freakin’ time! Nintendo announces a release date for SMG! Mark your calendars for Nov. 12th. Alongwith the date, Nintendo provided a new gameplay trailer that really shows the amazing scope of the game. Also included in the trailer is a looka at two new suits that will aid Mario along his way. The Bumblebee suit (for flying) and the Poe suit (for well…I dunno, being a ghost or something.)

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

A brief gameplay trailer and demo shows improved graphics and some amazing controls including the ability to lock on to an enemy while still having full movement of the camera. Check out the video:

Simply Amazing. Look out for Metroid on Aug 21.

Super Smash Bros Brawl

Okay not a ton of info yet…but we do have a release date! The Brawl is on starting Dec 3rd!

Check Mii Out!

The New Mii channel wll allow you to submit Miis and have other people vote on them.

Wii Zapper
Nintendo also finally announced and showed the final design for their Wii Zapper…Fully computable with Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles as well as Ghost Squad.
